Pirohy or dumplings are served with different fillings, some people prefer potatoes, cottage cheese or jam. We will show you how to make pirohy with bryndza. Bryndza is cheese made from sheep milk, it is known for its characteristic strong smell andtaste.

 

Ingredients:

2 large potatoes

2 coups of flour

1 egg

1/4 cup oil

salt

1 cup of bryndza

sour cream

chopped bacon

 

How to make it:

1.First cook the potatoes and mash them

2. Mix potatoes with eggs, oil and salt

3. Add one cup of flour and mix it all together, then add the second cup of flour  untill dough is ready. You can add some water if the dough is too dry.

4. Roll the dough and cut circles in the dough. You can use a drinking glass to make the cirles.

5. Fill the cirles with bryndza filling, form a half mond and close the edges with fingers

6. Boil water in a bog pot, drop pirohy into the boiling water, boil them untill they float to the surface by themselves.

7. Serve them with sour cream and chopped bacon
